You have to remember that JWST and Hubble are viewing this at different frequencies. A star that might be dim due to dust or gas in the visible spectrum, might be very bright in infrared which JWST sees. So you cannot just compare two images and say that something increased in brightness, unless they were taken at the same wavelength.
